INTERVIEWING TOURISTS by Mark Polko

Today you are going to interview some tourists and explain them the directions to the main sights in Seville. Just follow the steps below and don´t be afraid to use your English!

Step 1: Find a tourist

Look for people without a tan, with shorts, a backpack or a map in their hands.

Step 2: Introduce yourself

It is not very polite to interview someone without introducing yourself, so don´t forget to start with expressions like:

Would you mind if I ask you some questions for my schoolwork?

Make sure the tourists know who you are and what you want.

Step 3: Interview the tourists

You have to interview the tourists about their visit to Sevilla. You can ask them; how many days they will be staying in Seville, where they are staying(hotel, hostel camping), if they like the city and why, what´s the best thing they have done or which are the most beautiful sights they have seen. Don´t forget to ask them what else they are planning to do.

Step 4: Give directions

Ask the tourists if you can give them the main directions to the main monuments of Seville. If they say yes, then pick up one of the following spots:

The Cathedral( The Giralda )
The Alcázar
The Gold Tower
The neighbourhood "Santa Cruz"
The neighbourhood "Triana"
The Pilatos' House
The Indian Archive
The Bullring

Step 5: Finish in an English way, politely!

Thank the tourists for their time and wish them a nice stay in Seville.
Tell them for example:

Thanks for your time, I hope you enjoy your visit in Seville or thanks for your time, I hope you´ll have a great time and you´ll come back again.
